How We Research & Choose

Our approach

AdornTide helps US readers find everyday jewelry ideas and make informed shopping choices. We lead with styling, fit and practical decisions, then check the supporting material and care details.

What we have—and have not—done

We have not purchased, worn or measured the products discussed in our exploratory research. No article should imply personal wear experience or laboratory testing. A diagram is an illustration, not evidence of a real product’s appearance or performance.

Evidence labels

  • Manufacturer-declared: a claim from a verified source for the exact item, attributed and dated.
  • Listing metadata: a captured marketplace field; not automatically a manufacturer claim and not proof that other fields are absent.
  • Buyer-reported: an experience reported by a buyer, only reusable where permission and platform rules allow. It is not a measured defect.
  • AdornTide-measured: reserved for genuine documented physical measurements. Currently unused.
  • Not found in inspected sources: a bounded observation, not an assertion about every possible source.

How items become eligible for a guide

We require an exact variant, a permitted primary source, a check date and refresh deadline, useful styling or shopping relevance, and cleared image rights. Unsupported health or performance assurances are held for review. Affiliate commissions never turn an unresolved fact into a verified one.

Images and transparency

Exact-product images need explicit permitted use and a verified item match. Licensed lifestyle images provide context, not product proof. Original or AI-generated illustrations are labeled where they might otherwise be mistaken for a real item or personal experience. Website and Pinterest rights are checked separately.

Corrections and commercial links

We correct substantive mistakes visibly. Our earlier research content incorrectly treated compatible plating and base-metal descriptions as contradictions and overstated missing-field and durability conclusions; those interpretations have been withdrawn. Read our affiliate disclosure.
